quick 2-man FoW runs (fight just enough shadow army to get to the battlefield, clear and sell) nets me 2-3k per run, just from white-purple drops. I get another 1-2k in gold drops, save my shards. that's just for me...my partner gets the same. Half hour worth of work and you get 1-4 shards each depending on luck, and alot of merch items. That's where I get most of my money. Most I've had was just over 200k but I'm not a hardcore farmer, never get into the big dollar items/areas early on when the items fetch 100k+ prices, etc. I also spend a bit on collectibles, new armors for my characters....when black dye drops I'll get a few more for my monk's tats. I don't care as long as I stay above 80-100k in case I make a new character and need to outfit it....
I DO have about 200-300k worth of materials not including ectos and shards, spread across a couple mules. I guess that counts as assets. |

Note the reoccuring theme in all the posts, getting rich requires a time investment. Granted there have always been quicker, more creative ways to make money, 55 monk ecto farming, powertrading...etc. But in the end, you still need to invest a decent amount of time to make money.

I think day 1, I had 250k in pocket... by the end of the week....I'd say my friend and I had at least 2800k each. oh man that was awesome, back in the great days of 11k ecto. God that was some good money. Been spending it ever since Down to 430k Can't do that anymore though. When I did it the ecto discrepancy prices were huge, like 4k or something. And shards were similar, so we dabbled in that, too. Quote:
FFF is an amazing way to make money, simply because the price never wavers. Becoming an oldschool Savior, if you FFF'd the whole bloody thing was 3,750,000 gold, which by most, is pretty good cash. 10k Kurz faction is 3,750, which isn't bad either. For a while, when I was in [Sins], FFF was easily my best income. I was making....~50k a day from FFF. And when I make a surv char, I get a nice little income from hero FFF. It's grind sure, but it's dependable. Last edited by Snow Bunny; Oct 12, 2007 at 03:58 AM // 03:58.. |

If newer players are wondering why there are some insanely rich players out there, just remember that back in the day it was easy to get rich quick. Runes of superior absorption were 100k I remember and other sup's such as sup vigor were way up there too. More than a few players farmed those beautiful ettins that dropped purple and gold armors like candy in nebo terrace. There was also a mission in Kryta that dropped an insane amount of purple and gold armors and this was farmed to death too. A couple of nice armors could drop and net you 200k just like that. Dragons in Kryta were farmed for vampiric bow strings that went for 30k. Perfect +30 sword pommels were an automatic 100k and were used as currency when making high end purchases. Everybody back then wanted a fiery dragon sword and u could always sell them, even crappy non-max blue ones. Lets not forget desert griffon farming, I still have my req8 15%^50 wingblade sword from 55ing those guys. Back in the day before chests always gave purple and golds, you could usually go into town and sell them for decent profit, these days its usually merchant food.
Moving on to more recent times in this game, a few months ago i would make around 500k every time my guild(The Kaizen Order)went into DoA for a 4-run. At the time, titan gems were going for 80k each and every team member got 4 of them at the end of the final area so that was 320k right there from one chest. I remember one officer saying he had stacks of ecto saved up from all his DoA farming. Killing Mallyx and getting his greens was also a nice way to make quick cash, I got his sword twice and sold them for 100k+30 ecto each time(when ecto was worth 5 figures). |

Sorry, I'm closing this. The question has been answered many times, and this is getting full of flamebait. If you disagree, feel free to PM me explaining why.
